In a Knowing
Standing together
in the mouth of the barn
or seated on a soft chair indoors,
blessed with perfect beads
that cast away impurities,
in the form of rain.
Grateful for a chance to sit idle, in reprieve from scorch and humidity,
but if only for a moment.
Restore our strength for the morrow, while the crops gather sustenenance.
Our hearts meld with the rain, and tether together.
Memories compile
Memories fade
But some remain
unto this day
Alone
Yet knowing
you’re seated next.
I can’t see you.
But I envy…
You see me.
